In case you haven’t heard…

It’s been an absolutely crazy month! September brought me lots of excitement and thrills, new opportunities and new job offers.

For one, I am the new Chief Mom Officer for Babyspot.com!

I know! How crazy and exciting is that? I’m literally so excited I don’t know where to start or what to tell you first.

All of the moms who applied are fiercely talented and smart so to even be considered among them was a huge honor for me. I’m still in a bit of shock that I got the position.

If you aren’t familiar as to what a Chief Mom Officer is, (I’m not sure how you can’t be… it’s one of the biggest buzz words among work at home moms right now), it’s the brain child and baby of Jessica Smith, Chief Mom Officer of Wishpot.com. She came up with the concept after realizing that many companies were going about getting the attention of the one of the largest buying forces out there (that’s us mommies!) the wrong way. As Jessica has pointed out, moms are smart, talented and business minded, and companies should be looking to us! Here’s a sample of how Chief Mom Officers can benefit companies

What can Chief Mom Officers offer companies?

  • Business development
  • Marketing
  • Community Management
  • Public Relations
  • Networking through Social Media
  • Blogging
  • Writing
  • Usability testing
  • Promotion
  • An authentic Mom’s point of view
  • Much, much more!

There’s more to being a Chief Mom Officer and you can read more about that at the Chief Mom Officer site.

Last month also brought some great writing and blogging opportunities my way.  I’m now a part of Blissfully Domestic, the e-zine for women. I write for the Family Bliss Channel.

family blissIt’s been a great experience so far and though I’m probably a slacker, I’ve got some great posts and information I can’t wait to share.

I’m also a contributor at Snackerrific.com, a new women’s issues site called Female Forum imageand one of the talented contributors to life123.com. I’ve been working on the last two projects since February and I’m so thrilled that they have finally launched. It’s been exciting to see my hard work come to light.

There’s more excitement around the bend that I can’t wait to share with you but for now I’m going to keep it under wraps.

Wow, I feel like I should know you. I’m on Blissfully Domestic too (on home and gardening) and in the process of applying to Type A mom. I’m also a channel editor at Blog Nosh. I’m curious: do you find all these different hats too many? How much time, in particular, does the Type A Mom take per week? I’m trying to gauge whether I really can devote what it takes to that as well. Looking forward to getting to know you better.

Congratulations! I’m going to be working with you guys on the BabySpot blogs.

I would love to be a CMO, too, but I don’t know how to approach the company I’m interested in. Oh, well! I think it’s true that you have to be living it first, right? If so, I’m definitely there. :-)
