Muvee Reveal Review (and Giveaway!)

I’m a bit of a geek, I admit it. I love to play with my Blackberry, my Flip, and my digital camera. I love taking all of the things I capture on them, be it pictures or videos and sharing them with family, so when I was approached by the makers of Muvee, a new leader in video and movie making software, I was estatic to try it out.

I’ve used Windows Movie Maker, which is the standard by which many people use, but after using Muvee Reveal, I won’t even bother opening that other program again. No way, after just trying out Muvee Reveal ONE TIME, I’ve been converted.

To say that Reveal is easy to use is an understatement. You install it and BAM! You’re rolling through your stored pictures and movies in seconds choosing the ones that will make that perfect family slideshow or movie. There’s no jumping back and forth between screens or switching to a different view to preview the styles, you can choose the style, effects, and music all in one place. Simply click on the picture or video you want to edit, and a screen pops up allowing you to quickly choose the changes or effects you want, and then you’re right back to the main screen. The software lines everything up for you so you aren’t wasting time fumbling around trying to line your music up to end with the pictures. If I felt anything needed tweaking or changing, I was able to pop in and out of the edit options without messing up the rest of the format.

One thing I have to say about Muvee Reveal is that I spent a fraction of the time learning how to use it than I did using Windows software. I made less errors too. Now I can’t be sure if that has more to do with the fact that I’ve made a few movies by now or that Muvee Reveal really was that effortless to use. Also, I didn’t need to save and then publish my movie like the Windows software, I simply saved it to the format I wanted to use (I chose WMV in this case) and Voila – I was done. *NOTE: If you are running Windows on your Mac, the software will work.

The kids enjoyed watching the slideshow I created and I incorporated many of the features that Muvee Reveal offers. I was able to place my captions exactly where I wanted and zoom in on Bug from afar. I’m very excited to start making more movies for my family and friends.

If you don’t believe me, take a look at how it turned out. HD resolution even made some of my older pictures and scanned in pictures look good.
