EarCheck – A Product Review
3 Mar
I recently had the privilege of reviewing the EarCheck Middle Ear Ear Monitor. I’m so excited about this product!
As an ear infection suffer-er I know that not all ear infections hurt; mine rarely do. I come down with a fever, get stuffy and have swollen glands, but there is rarely an explanation for my symptoms. As a child, this happened often. Mom would take me to the Doctor where they’d tug on my ears and ask, “Honey, does this hurt?” After taking a look at my ears they would tell my mother I had a bad ear infection and needed antibiotics. As an adult, I have learned to have my ears checked if there is no other explanation for my fever.
But, when you have a little kid, fevers and runny noses can be the result of just about anything from teething to colds to ear infections. This handy device transmits sound waves to the middle ear, detecting fluids which are often indicators of an ear infection.
The monitor is very simple to use. The results show as:
- Fluid Unlikely
- Monitor
- Consult Doctor
Whether you’re checking for the possibility of an infection, or you’ve had one and want to see if the healing process is on the right track, the EarCheck Middle Ear Monitor is a must have for any home with children!
“EarCheck is a quick and easy way for parents to detect and monitor middle ear fluid, a key sign of an ear infection.” – Jerome Klein, MD, Professor of Pediatrics, Boston University School of Medicine
I tried this out on my little boy and he liked the little sound it made. He wanted to do it again, and then he wanted to hold it. I think I’d better put it up where he can’t get to it, or else the batteries will be dead when I need it!

I too have the EarCheck monitor. What a GREAT tool to have in the house. It has been very accurate each time my child complained about her ears. Well worth the $40! I definitely recommend the EarCheck monitor to all parents.
