Oh How I LOVE Being a Guilty Parent

That was sarcasm in case you didn’t catch it.

But what is a guilty parent? Is it one that feels guilty over choices that they’ve made? It can be; that’s the definition that comes to mind first.

A guilty parent can also be one that has had moments where their kids make them feel like the worst parents in the world (file this under “I hate you mom!” “You’re so mean, you never let me do ANYTHING!”)

A guilty parent can also be a parent that makes a simple mistake (forgetting to send your child to school with lunch or lunch money) OR…. buying your potty training child the wrong gender pull ups (I did this last week. Peanut is sporting pretty pink Dora under his clothes this week).

It happens to all of us. We can’t be perfect and we aren’t always the most confident parent. That’s no reason to let those moments and decisions build up and eat at you inside. Why not celebrate it?

This week I’m going to post vlogs of parents (myself included) who were willing to share some of their guilty parent moments. I hope they inspire you, make you laugh, and also take comfort that sometimes bad moments happen to the best moms and dads.
