Blogging is a lot like raising kids I think. Just like your baby starts out little and helpless, totally depending on you and then growing into someone all their own and taking on a life of their own, I really think that if done right, a blog will do the same. You give birth to it and nurture it, and with some love and a lot of attention, it grows to be something wonderful and amazing that you are truly proud of.
Over time, my readers have taught me things about myself, blogging and community, but I know there’s room for growth. I know there are a lot of people who read The Guilty Parent who never, ever comment. That’s fine, I do that with some blogs too but I still want to know more about my silent and my vocal readers. I think that if I’m going to continue to be a good “guilty parent” I need to find out more about who’s reading now because I know you’ve all changed and grown along with the blog and I know that there are a lot of new faces out there too!
I’ve come up with a reader survey that I’d love for you to take. It’s a mix of basic demographics as well as questions that will help me make some decisions about the future of The Guilty Parent in terms of content and the companies I work with. All the information that you give me is confidential. Shoot. I don’t even know your name unless you decide to tell me.
The goal is to make sure that when you visit, you enjoy it here and you like what I have to say. I don’t want to waste your time by providing content that doesn’t matter to YOU.
So please take a few minutes to participate in the survey and share your thoughts (I give you space for that too!)
I’ll post the results of the survey later next month!
