Bring on the Bliss: I am Headed to Nashville!

In September last year, I was looking forward to attending the Type-A Mom conference. BlogHer was wonderful but I just felt like Type-A Mom conference was where I’d learn, grow and become a better blogger and writer.

But exactly four short weeks before the Type-A Mom conference, I found myself sitting in a hospital emergency room tweeting, praying, and crying, trying to get the images of Brian sitting next to his car, bleeding from both legs out of my head.

So instead of making the car trip to Type-A Mom conference with Peanut, I stayed home to help Brian recover and heal from his car accident.

I cried big, fat, baby tears but I knew my place was at home, taking care of him and the kids and so I got over it.

Besides, I knew there was Blissdom coming up to kick off 2010.

Long conversations, financial finagling, hoping, praying, and some deep conversations about crushing my creative dreams, helping me become a better blogger and savvy business type galĀ  later, it was decided that I would go to Blissdom 2010.

Excited much?

Why yes, YES I AM.

I’m still finagling the finances and I’ll probably be the blogger in the corner stuffing the free bread into my laptop bag (kinda like Darryl Hannah in Steel Magnolias during the wedding scene), but I’ll be there totally embracing my frugal side (I’m kidding about the free bread thing. Sorta).

I’ll be there representing Lifetime Moms and of course The Guilty Parent brand. I’m expecting to walk away with some great ideas that I can put to use as well as share my blogging experience with other like-minded women. I’m hoping to have a lot of AHA! Moments during the conference.

So if you see someone yelling AHA! out of the clear blue during the sessions, it’s me. Please say Hi. Or yell AHA! too so I don’t look totally silly.

And then there’s the fact that I’ll get to meet Erica, who has been with me since launching Zoe’s site. I swear on all that is sacred, I will cry. I will cry hard and likely make her cry too – because I have that freakish affect on people. And hopefully when I’m done crying, Erica will still love me and fix my blog when it’s broken.

I’m also going to refrain from touching Angela England’s baby bump too much but it may be difficult. And if you can believe that I won’t totally accost Angela when I finally meet her, then believe this: I have to go all the freakin way to Nashville to meet Angie who is practically, PRACTICALLY my neighbor.(That’s actually true. The part about not accosting Angela is not).

But that’s Not all I’m doing!

I’ve got this crazy plan to talk to other mom bloggers about some real parenting issues, so if you’d like to be a part of my crazy plan and don’t mind sharing your opinions on life and motherhood, then hit me up in the comments and I’ll send you an email with the rest of the details.

I can’t tell you much more than that other than to say, just like anything else I’ve done, I’m gonna wing it and see how it turns out!

I have no words of wisdom on what to bring with you to Blissdom (other than comfortable shoes and a good bra. FOR REAL).

How will you know if you’ve found me?

Easy. I’ll be the gal with the laptop strung in CAUTION tape because the monitor is going to fall apart any day now. Sit down, laugh at my laptop and we’ll be fine. (you think I’m kidding except I have a small block of wood in the shape of the letter “N” propping up the left corner of the monitor).

I’m pretty sure that Brian and the kids are thrilled to see me go going to miss me terribly as I am them. I’m already concerned about how well I’ll sleep so far from them all (peacefully I’m sure).

Seriously, I expect to get text messages right up until Brian appears at the airport to get me, from Bug on how they are all grounded and when am I coming home and what did I bring them… because that’s what I am to these hooligans; their get out of jail free card & bringer of cool stuff.

What else is there to say except:

Blissdom Conference ~ Nashville ~ February 4-6 2010
