The Kids Are Digging the Palm Pre Plus

I can’t always keep everyone quiet and well behaved when we’re out in public. I know you find that hard to believe but I’m a mom not a miracle worker.

When Bug was little I had an arsenal of items in my purse to keep him entertained. Silly putty, paper clips (don’t ask), a small notepad and pens or crayons, and yes, even my calculator did double duty when I needed it to. It all seemed too easy for this mom. In fact, I think at one point, I thought to myself, “Meh. I can do this mom thing.”

Fast forward to four kids and I quickly ran of out things in my purse to keep them busy and entertained.  At this point, I’m like, “Ooh look kids. A nice rock. Don’t you want to play with the rock?” Clearly I need help.

Bug who now drools over my Verizon Palm Pre Plus and is begging me for one, is completely into the ability to surf the web and be stuck in the car waiting for dinner through the drive thru, or finding out what time a movie is playing, or if he had a snow day by checking the school’s website (which we’ve bookmarked).

Peanut loves to play the “bubble game”; a free app game that allows him to tap clusters of bubbles of the same color and hear them pop. Shorty also enjoys this game along with Block Breaker. The calculator on the Palm Pre Plus still remains a favorite for a quick entertainment fix.

Bebe likes being able to listen to Pandora and trying her hand at making videos. She’s a bit of an actress so I expect this of her. She also likes me to find cartoons on Youtube for her to watch through the Palm Pre Plus.

Yes, we’ve come a long way from scraping the bottom of my purse to find things to do. Then again, they still want inside my purse, only now they’re asking for my phone!

so cool, even the kids want to play with it.

As I continue to discover the great things about my Palm Pre Plus, I’m always conscious of making sure the apps I download are safe for the kids to check out and in many cases, the apps have been just for them.

And if you’re thinking, “How do you manage to keep them from killing one another for a turn?” Easy. It’s called the stopwatch/timer app. Get it. You’ll love it.

**This is part of a promotion through Verizon Wireless. I was provided with a Palm Pre Plus and one month’s paid service to participate. No other compensation was received. As always, all opinions expressed and editorial are my own.

I have the bubble wrap app, and G plays with it a lot. It’s the only thing he’s allowed to do on my phone. hehe
