I am blessed enough to have an amazing father who taught me how to roll with what life throws at me (taught with a lot of humor), to give people a second, third, and sometimes fifth chance, and to yell at me when I needed it (but didn’t want him to), to not yell at me when I needed him to listen (like when I was pregnant with Bug but didn’t know exactly how to tell him and said, “I can’t help you and Brian move the refrigerator, I’m pregnant”)…
I’m beyond blessed to have a patient and forgiving husband (even though he may not seem that way to the rest of the world), a man who can see all sides of the picture but still like his view best, who has entertained many a hair brained idea of mine over the years (“Damn honey you might actually be making money at this blogging and writing thing” – wife nods and smiles), and who understands a text message from me that reads, “What are YOU making for dinner?” is really code for “take us out for dinner”, and who has turned out to be a great dad despite my original concerns (just kidding dear!)….
This video is for both of the amazing men in my life and for the amazing men everywhere. Who have stood up and said, “Sure. I’ll be a dad. How hard can it be?”
Thank you. Thank you for doing it and for continuing to do it every day, even when we knock you down and tell you that you’re doing it wrong. We could not do it without you.
Most of all this is for the single parents out there… moms and dads. Who do what Brian and I do every day; together. We don’t know how you do it. We can’t imagine having to do it like you do. Thank you for stepping up to the plate and being amazing for your children.
