KidzMed Review

kidzmed

I was recently given the opportunity to try out a couple of products that are offered by KidzMed. Like most parents, I’m a sucker for anything that will help to keep my kids safe and healthy, so I naturally said yes! The two products I received were the ScaldSafe tub thermometer and the Children’s Chewable All Natural Multi Vitamin. I was very pleased with both of these products.

scaldsafeScaldSafe Tub Thermometer

I am a fan of very hot baths and showers, which is great for me, not so much for my kids. I’m always afraid of making their water too hot, simply because it just feels “warm” to me. More than once I have gone to put one of the kids in the tub, only to have them draw their feet back because it was warmer than they find comfortable. Bad mommy, I know.

The ScaldSafe Tub Thermometer is a round, plastic disc that changes colors from purple to pink when water is above 93.2 degrees. You simply hold the disc in the water for a few seconds once the bath is run and you will instantly know if you have made the tub too hot. Once it cools off, it returns to its normal purple color and is ready for another use.

I think a tub thermometer is a must-have in any household with small children and the ScaldSafe does the job perfectly.

vitaminChildren’s Chewable All Natural Multi Vitamin

I have always had a problem with many of the children’s multivitamins on the market. Many of them contain dyes and artificial flavors, making them seen more like candy than a dietary supplement. While this can be helpful in getting reluctant kids to take their vitamins, I think it also presents a problem, as they can confuse the vitamins with candy and potentially overdose.

The Children’s Chewable All Natural Multi Vitamin from KidzMed does not contain any artificial flavors, dyes, or sugar. They contain 100% of the daily allowance of 13 vitamins and minerals, making them a great choice for your kids’ nutrition.

We had a great experience with these vitamins. Even my picky 2 and 3 year old took them with no problem. The 3 yr old proclaimed that they tasted like “purpleberries” (whatever those are) I tasted them myself and thought they had a very mild, pleasant fruity taste and weren’t overpoweringly “vitamin-y.” That the taste got a thumbs up from me says a lot because I hate the aftertaste of a vitamin.

Between the fact that the kids gave these vitamins a thumbs up, and that they have none of the things that I hate most about the more popular commercial vitamins, we will most likely be purchasing vitamins from KidzMed in the future.

Getting a (Double) Daily Dose of Guilt

Getting a (Double) Daily Dose of Guilt

Image by <a href=I’ve had a close run in with this one myself only it was Bebe who decided I clearly didn’t know how to properly medicate her when she had an ouchie and took the entire bottle of children’s tylenol and put it into another container and hid it in her room. She didn’t hide it well enough because Peanut got ahold of it and took some. Luckily he only took three of them.

Still the thought itself is scary! I can laugh about it now and in this video you can see that my friend Julie can smile about the trouble her twin girls get into with a bottle of vitamins!

Thanks Julie for sharing!

Feeling Guilty over our Parenting Skills and Questioning Ourselves

Feeling Guilty over our Parenting Skills and Questioning Ourselves

We’ve all had days where we are not our most fabulous. The kids test our patience beyond reasonable limits and we… Well, we lose it.

I’m close to one of those moments RIGHT NOW. As I’m typing this, Peanut is sitting next to me with a toy and he is having it “hop” and “jump” on me, my back, my arm and it hurts. It’s not pleasant. So I ask nicely for him to stop (he doesn’t). Then I raise my voice a little, then a little more until… Sigh. I’m never happy when I have to yell. I clinch my teeth, hold my breath, and remind myself that I didn’t go through another C-section just so I could kill the kid before he gets to kindergarten, or fully potty trained.

I. Must. Be Patient.

Erica, who you know from Fishbowl Sense and her newest home, Erica Mueller Online, shares with all of us the raw emotions of those moments where we lose it and question our parenting skills inside and out as part of our series of vlogs and posts about being a guilty parent. This is a parenting moment we can all relate to at it’s very core.

Worry not Erica, we’ve all had days like this and we’ve got many more to come.

Thank you Erica for being so brave. I know how much it takes to share a moment like this.

As you can see, not every moment is funny, or comical. Some of these moments affect us in ways we never thought possible, it’s part of the role we accepted when we decided to become parents.

PowderArt Review: Painting Fun without the Mess

PowderArt Review: Painting Fun without the Mess

PowderArt Monkey My daughter and I painted yesterday! Okay, I told a fib! We tried out PowderArt, dry paint powder made from recycled paper product!

One thing that I don’t like about doing crafts with my daughter is the MESS! But with PowderArt, I didn’t have to worry, because what little mess that was made, was easily cleaned up!

PowderArt is an easy way to let your children make a creation without making a mess, and the “paintings” are so easy to do! You just peel the stickers to expose the sticky area, and “paint” on the sticky area!

Having fun PaintingMy daughter really enjoyed making her monkey, and she did another one today!

PowderArt is also reasonably priced – at $10 for four different pictures. That’s a great value!

First Ever Penguinecotmy Disguised as a Guilty Parent Moment

As promised, I’m bringing you moments of other parents sharing some of their less than awesome parenting jobs.

Today’s is brought to you by my sister, Chrissy, who some of you also know as Zoe’s Mom.

When you watch this video, you’ll see my hand shaking, that’s because I’m laughing. See, I remember the phone call right after this in which my sister shares her dismay that it wasn’t one of my kids who stuck something up their nose first (to which I’m still very pleased about)… No. It was one of hers.

It could just be me but every time my sister shares this, I laugh and watching it now makes me laugh more. Anyway, my sister and I agreed that you can’t “blog” this moment. You simply have to watch.
